Retirement Pending... Dr Juliet Sutton
Dr Juliet Sutton, Senior Partner will be retiring on 22nd May after serving a whopping 31 years with the practice.
Juliet joined Walton Grove Surgery in July 1993. Alongside her hard work, dedication, and commitment to being a general practitioner, she has also helped to train young doctors over her many years of service. Dr Sutton has been our Safeguarding Lead as well as our CQC Registered Manager and in March 2022 Dr Sutton became our Senior Partner following the retirement of Dr Wakeford. Outside of the practice, Dr Sutton has always been an advocate for children working with the CCG as a Clinical Director for Children’s Services. It is safe to say her dedication to the NHS has not gone unnoticed.
Dr Sutton has been the “lynch pin” of Poplar Grove Practice and will be missed enormously by both staff and patients – today she is still looking after 3 generations of the same family – wow! Juliet will be remembered for her wealth of knowledge, fantastic leadership skills and her great sense of humour!
As Dr Sutton keeps reminding us, she has 21 working days left with the practice… do you think she is excited for retirement? In her retirement, Juliet is looking forward to travelling and project managing (alongside her husband) their self-built home in a new location!

The Important Stuff
- We know Dr Sutton’s patients will be keen to know who their new GP will be, we are in the process of appointing a replacement and once we have any further news, we will inform Dr Sutton’s patients.
- Dr Sutton will be passing the baton onto Dr Sunil Pillai who will take over as Senior Partner from 23rd May 2024.
