Who is eligible for Mounjaro from GPs right now?

The NHS has recently released the criteria for accessing weight loss injections via your GP Surgery.

The first phased cohort eligible for Mounjaro on the NHS is only for those with BMI above 40 and with 4 of 5 defined comorbidities

1. Diagnosed hypertension

2.Diagnosed sleep apnoea

3.Diagnosed type 2 diabetes

4.Diagnosed cardiovascular disease

5.Diagnosed hypercholesterolemia

If you do not have a BMI above 40 and four of the conditions above, Poplar Grove will not be able to prescribe you Mounjaro for weight loss. We have received many queries from patients wishing to see a GP to discuss their eligibility for this new service, resulting in unnecessary appointments for patients that do not qualify for Mounjaro injections under the NHS
